Well, I’ve had a terrible time the past few days. It is
still unknown for sure as yet, however it seems the medication I was receiving would
be the cause of all of my troubles.
On the evening of the 1st I started to itch on my
lower back where the swelling is. By the morning of the 2nd I looked
like I had the chicken-pox!! Subsequently ALL medication was stopped and my
system flushed. During the past 24hours I have managed to stay sane and as of
this morning (minus the insane itchiness of my whole body), for the first time
after the operation, I feel fantastic!
Managed a whole hour of rehab, appetite returning, still
having swelling problems in my leg but hoping that too will subside with the
new medications.
I have had my black, flexible knee-brace fitted. Am able to
extend my leg from 85° bent to 30° straightened. The 30° position is fixed to
allow the ACL to heal without being stretched and/or pulled.
Strength is slowly returning to my legs (helped by the
ankle-weights my Rehab PT delights in attaching whenever possible.) and range
of motion as well.
I am hoping with the resolution of my setbacks, I can get
back on schedule for my discharge in 2ish weeks.
